ABOUT NATRALOGIC

Lauren Lamont (nee Pietersen), Owner and Founder of Natralogic, is revolutionizing the skincare industry by pioneering South Africa’s first all-natural skin care range developed specifically for the needs of pregnant women.

Lauren holds a 6-year Master’s Degree in Pure and Applied Chemistry from the University of KwaZulu-Natal where she graduated with several Certificates of Merit and Deans Commendations. Lauren also holds a 2-year Diploma in Cosmetic Chemistry from the Society of Cosmetic Science South Africa where she graduated top in the country and received the Norman Sanan Award for most innovative product design.

However, it wasn’t until Lauren became pregnant with her first child that she became very discouraged in trying to find safe and effective skincare products to use during her pregnancy. The majority of products available in South Africa for pregnant mothers contained harmful ingredients that are not recommended for use during pregnancy as they have been associated with miscarriage, bleeding complications, congenital disabilities, disruption in fetal growth and some are known carcinogens.

Fortunately, being involved in the skincare industry, Lauren set about developing her own products to use during pregnancy which contained only the finest, most effective natural ingredients. This inspired Lauren to launch Natralogic, South Africa’s first all-natural skin care range developed specifically for the needs of pregnant women, with the intention of helping other moms feel empowered and at ease over their pregnancy skincare choices.

  3. It’s always a challenge to find safe products to use during pregnancy, especially when it relates to skincare, because there’s always the fear that the ingredients might cause a negative reaction or worse, affect the baby. During my pregnancy I steered clear of all products and stuck to things from my kitchen shelf – natural home remedies. Natralogic must be a boon for expecting Moms to look good!

  4. What a wonderful article. Being in the Beauty world, it is always good to learn about new products to
introduce to my clients. Thank you so much for this article.

  5. I’m always in the hunt for safer and cleaner skincare products. I’ve become more conscious of the effects of harmful ingredients in our skincare products even when not pregnant or breastfeeding. I’m also curious if it’s alright to use if you’re not or haven’t been pregnant?

  6. We use so many chemicals in our daily lives that we don’t care much about their consequences on our bodies. It’s good to see someone making the necessary changes not just for pregnant women but for all women in general. I have always had issues with dark spots and had tried all sorts of products with no success. Wonder if there is a product your author would recommend any product for me.

  9. Thanks Raina for the lovely kind words. You are so right and I am so happy to see that people like yourself are becoming aware of the dangers in the skincare products we use daily. Here is a page I wrote about the chemicals we use daily and how it can affect us: https://natralogic.co.za/pages/why-you-should-be-using-all-natural-skincare-products.
Riana, in terms of the dark spots, I would recommend that you look for skincare products containing Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Vitamin C (Ascorbic acid) and/or Arbutin. As far as topical applications go, there is only so much they can do, especially if you have pigmentation deep in the dermis. I would also suggest visiting an aesthetic clinic and look into IPL (intense pulsed laser) which is a type of laser that is effective at lightening deep pigmentation. Also, make sure that you always use a sunscreen on your face in the day to prevent the spots from darkening. Hope this helps,
    Thanks
    Lauren
