Waterfall College invests in the future with new specialist learning facility

Waterfall College enters an exciting new chapter with the construction of a purpose-designed specialist learning block that will expand opportunities for creativity, innovation and academic excellence.

The College is known for its strong academic programme, personalised approach to learning and commitment to developing young people of character, purpose and integrity. Small class sizes and meaningful relationships ensure that every student is known, supported and encouraged to reach their full potential. This is reflected in the College’s 100% IEB Matric pass rate since 2004. 

The new development represents a significant investment in the future of the school and its students, providing modern facilities that match the quality of teaching already taking place across a wide range of specialist subjects.

The building will include dedicated Visual Art and Dramatic Arts studios, as well as a commercial-style Consumer Studies kitchen, giving students inspiring environments in which to develop practical skills, creativity and confidence.

A multi-purpose venue will provide additional teaching space while offering flexibility for school events and activities. Additional breakaway spaces will support small-group learning, collaboration and a range of academic and co-curricular activities.

Principal Mrs Green says the project reflects Waterfall College’s commitment to preparing students for an ever-changing world. 

“This new building is far more than the rooms that are taking shape. It is an investment in our students, and in their futures. The spaces have been carefully designed to encourage creativity, critical thinking, collaboration and innovation, while taking our context into account and supporting the diverse talents of our students. “

Waterfall College currently offers 18 Matric subjects, allowing students to pursue a broad range of interests and strengths, from Visual Art and Dramatic Arts to Consumer Studies, Engineering Graphics and Design, Business Studies and Tourism.

The new specialist learning block is another step in Waterfall College’s ongoing commitment to providing students with the facilities, opportunities and environment they need to thrive – academically, creatively, on the sports field and personally.
